John is an Associate of the Firm with over 2 years’ experience and of good standing at the Zambian bar. He is an Advocate of the High Court for Zambia and a member of the Law Association of Zambia. John acquired his Law Practice Certificate from the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education and holds a Law Degree from the University of Zambia. John also holds a Certificate in Legal Drafting and Writing from DLA Piper, a multinational law firm with officers in over 40 countries.
Prior to joining Mando & Pasi Advocates, John gained valuable experience at Corpus Legal Practitioners. He predominantly worked in the Banking and Finance Department where he acquired expertise in project financing, security creation, perfection and enforcement (security law), sovereign borrowing transactions, and regulatory compliance in the space of banking law. John also worked in the litigation department where he handled mainly commercial litigation disputes for both local and international clients.
Currently, John discharges general litigation for both artificial and non-artifical persons ranging from commercial matters, employment, domestic relations. John also possesses excellent legal skills re legal opinions on various aspects of the law and has great interest in intellectual property law.
Some of John’s greatest attributes are that he is innovative, solution oriented, industrious and a good team player. Since admission to the bar, one of his highlights of his career has been assisting in debt restructuring of a sovereign debt between the Government of the Republic of Zambia and a private lender.
